What is Orientation Week (O-Week)?
O-Week focuses on introducing you to Laurier and allowing you to experience first-hand the culture that makes our university so special. O-week events will help you learn how to balance elements of student life while achieving academic success, enjoy life in the cities of Waterloo and Brantford, and meet your peers! This jam-packed week is a can’t miss for any new Golden Hawks looking to start their Laurier journey on the right foot!

When is Orientation Week happening?
Hosted in-person on each campus from September 4-9, with programming on Sunday September 3rd following Move-In Days, O-Week is jam-packed with opportunities to meet fellow Golden Hawks, learn about Laurier resources and supports, and get comfortable on campus.

Why should I participate in O-Week?
O-Week will be the best and first opportunity for you to become familiar with not only the campus and city but Laurier life in general. We will not only show you around campus but you will have a chance to meet other students in your program, on your Residence floor or Off-Campus Community through a number of social opportunities that have been planned by our campus experts….Students! Through this whole week, you will have a personalized group of Laurier experts - we call them Ice Breakers - who will be your guides and supports throughout the whole program. These passionate students have been in your shoes and have learned all the tips and tricks to finding your way around campus, who to talk to about what, and finding the best food on and on and off campus!

What type of events are there during Orientation Week?
O-Week offers events for everyone. There are programs geared towards your academic success, social belonging, and learning what it means to be a Laurier Golden Hawk. Some examples of programming include Student Success Sessions, Trivia Nights, Headphone Disco, Carnivals, and more!

Is O-Week Mandatory?
The O-Week program is not mandatory. You are welcome to attend as much or as little as you see fit. With that being said though, we do strongly recommend you attend as much as possible as the events will give you the best opportunity to meet others, connect with campus and learn what it means to be a Laurier Golden Hawk.

How much does O-Week cost?
O-Week is completely free. There will be a Welcome Back Concert hosted on the Waterloo campus open to all students that will require a ticket.

What Social Media Accounts can I follow to stay up to date on all things O-Week?

Brantford: @campuslifebrantford & @yourstudentsunion

Also, make sure to check your @mylaurier emails as we are sending information from Laurier Students' Union over the summer.

Who are the student leaders behind O-Week and how do I connect with them?
Each year the Orientation Week program is put together by a group of dedicated students known as the O-Team. The O-Team are upper-year students who have been in your shoes before and are eager to make your transition to life at Laurier the best it can possibly be!
