The Association of Black Students (ABS) is a Waterloo campus-based student service that emphasizes empowerment, solidarity and progress within Laurier and the community. ABS encourages people to become more aware and involved with the movement to challenge social and racial inequalities. Our focus is to spread awareness about the experiences of Black students with the goal of ensuring all members of the Laurier community are well-informed and have a fulfilling university experience. Athletics offers 22 varsity sport teams competing in the OUA. Students can tryout for varsity teams or attend games to cheer on their fellow Golden Hawks. Recreation offers a wide range of programming for all students to find what they love to do to stay active. Intramurals, sport clubs, group exercise classes, dance programs, lane swimming, personal training and the Fitness Centre for general working out options. Recreation has something for everyone.

LOCUS is a program designed to aid the transition into university for first-year students living off-campus. The program provides you with academic, social, and personal support to ensure that you will not miss Laurier's on-campus experience. Just like a residence floor has a don to guide and mentor their first-year students, an Off-Campus Advisor (OCA) supports an off-campus community. Your OCA does monthly programming and is there to answer any questions you may have on school, academics, the city, or just life in general. Your OCA can also help you navigate life at Laurier, find more opportunities for volunteering, leadership, and fun.

The Multi-Faith Resource Team, which includes the university chaplains, is available to assist students, staff and faculty in their efforts to research or discuss ethical and theological issues. As Laurier is a place where students can enhance their own religious knowledge and be challenged by unfamiliar faith stances, the Resource Team is available to support people from all religious traditions.

The Human Rights and Conflict Management Office helps Laurier students who have experienced harassment, discrimination, bullying, a toxic work or learning environment, difficult interpersonal conflict, unfair or misapplication of university policy as well as gendered or sexual violence.

Radio Laurier features a wide range of programming, from weekly shows based on music, to talk radio that tackles complex issues and returning this year on-air sports commentary of WLU sports! We also have “behind-the-scenes” volunteer positions as well! These positions include music assistants, events/street team assistants, news assistants and PR assistants. The Rainbow Centre in Waterloo is a safer space on campus available to all students, faculty, staff, administrators and visitors who are 2SLGBTQ+ identified, queer-friendly or allies. We provide awareness training, programming, research, education, advocacy and support through group events, speaker series, open forums, and a resource library. Our hope is to transform the community starting with ourselves. We offer a space to house resources, hold meetings, and, most importantly, provide the opportunity to engage in discourse in an open and positive environment.

The Special Constable Service is staffed by special constables, communications operators and administrative personnel. The Communications Centre is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to your needs, concerns and emergencies. Special Constables are first responders to all campus emergencies and are the liaison between other emergency services and the university. Full-time special constables are employed at Kitchener-Waterloo and Brantford campuses.

Enhance your academic experience at Laurier through professional one-on-one, online and peer-to-peer resources. Student success programs include assistance with mathematics, study skills and writing development. Alpha Omega is a local sorority proudly founded at Wilfrid Laurier University 25 years ago. We are comprised of a diverse group of vibrant young women.
